Poster design

I really love designing posters! These are contest submissions or ones I mocked up for fun. I love the Blue Heron (nod to Charley Harper's wonderful geometric artwork), working on that one for this year ... and also making a Loon version.

It was a requirement to use the Etsy cloud logo and I used it to make the gift wrap pattern and the wreath.

Now, if I could just do this for a job. ;)

Those are beautiful designs, Kim! Why not submit them to a design services firm and try your luck as a graphic artist? I think you have what it takes to stand out in the crowd, and make it big in the very challenging world of graphic design where first impressions really do last.

Thank you, Matthew! I did submit these for poster contest in my community. The Egret was my favorite. I got carried away and created my favorite duck ... the Loon. I also did a bunch more to keep my illustrator skills up while I search for illustration jobs ;) I was/am a graphic designer, worked for 20+ years in that field. I am freelancing now, mainly developing websites. So if your design firm is ever in need of an illustrator, please keep me in mind. ;) Thank you so much for commenting on my work, it means the world to me. BTW, how *did* you discover this post? Just curious. Kim

I forgot to add a link to the contest. Next year I think I might paint something, seems to be more popular than vector illustrations ;) http://www.pugetsoundbirdfest.com/poster-art-contest.html
