U District

Submitted a U District logo design the other day. It was fun.

My 2 hours brainstorming ideas ....

Pushing on

I had some fun this week.

Some of my freelance bids got away! Most of my interviews didn't fly.

But .... I got a Brantlers commission! And I submitted a poster idea for Anacortes Arts Festival. I submitted a "U" design for the U District contest. And had my freelance gig.

And I push on.

Cleaning up and deleting

My great Mac support guy, Gary McLane was here today to do some diagnostics on my computer before he leaves town for an extended trip South. I feel a little uneasy knowing he is not going to be at a phone call away! I am trying to find some fonts that I had a floppy disc, had moved them to zip disc ... then moved them to computer ... you know the drill.

I have been organizing files that are a total mess. It is embarrassing how out of control my computer gets sometimes (most of the time). Looking at work that I mocked up and the deleting it. Sometimes you just need to get rid of stuff ... difficult for me to do. I found this little mock up I did for my sister's friend ... had forgotten I had done it and never heard back about it. I do a lot of these mockups that I never hear back about ... not to taking that personally. ;)

Something else I had mocked up for someone I met. I had just started using Thesis Wordpress ... and playing around with some ideas. I am embarrassed to say how many of these files that I have found ... and am deleting. In the process of getting my "freelance legs' am discovering how much time I waste, exploring, having fun. The lesson I am taking away is stop wasting my time and letting go.

Stepping away

I realized last week how completely burned out I am sitting at my computer. Decided to step away for the week and do something, anything ... in my studio ... creative, cleaning. Am hoping it helps with my creativity when I come back to the computer to work.

I made 18 new Brantlers ... a little larger than the first ones. And have 10 more ready to cut. David got a Keyhole router bit so make it ready to hang is a cinch. I got it down to quite a production line. It was so much fun. Here are a few that I finished.

This one is really my fave of the bunch!

Able

I was making these cd covers for my awesome sister ... xacto cutting, gluing, and saw this left behind. Cosmic hint?

F is for Future

My horoscope for this week:

You will be inundated with strong vibrations this week. Mercury enters Pisces on Monday. Your imagination will soar. You will be able to visualize a new future. Mars enters your sector of self on Tuesday. You will consider revamping your appearance. Your new style will dazzle the world. Be realistic about a situation on Friday. You may decide to save a companion from bad habits. You aren't a miracle worker. You will have a bit of good luck on Sunday.

So I decided to add F to alphabet today.
